Honglak Lee

Executive Vice President And Chief Scientist Of Artificial Intelligence at LG AI Research

Honglak Lee's work experience includes various roles in academia and the tech industry. Honglak is currently a Professor at the University of Michigan, where they have held progressively higher positions since 2010. Prior to that, they worked as a Research Scientist at Google Brain from 2016 to 2020. Honglak also worked as a Research Assistant at Stanford University from 2005 to 2010. Recently, they joined LG AI Research as the Executive Vice President and Chief Scientist of Artificial Intelligence, starting in 2024.

Honglak Lee completed their Bachelor's Degree in Physics and Computer Science (dual major) at Seoul National University. Honglak then went on to earn a Master's Degree in Applied Physics and another Master's Degree in Computer Science, both from Stanford University. Finally, they obtained their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Computer Science from Stanford University as well.
