Nicola Ward

Nicola Ward has a diverse work experience spanning various industries and roles. Nicola is currently the Internal Communication & Employee Engagement Lead at Liaise since July 2022. Prior to this, they worked as the Change Communications Manager at Marie Curie UK from May 2021 to July 2022.

From 2020 to 2021, Nicola was the Head Of Internal Communication at the National Lottery Heritage Fund. In this role, they led internal communication and created the Fund's first internal communication strategy. Nicola also developed an engagement plan for systems implementation and achieved complete sign-up for mandatory training.

Before that, from 2015 to 2020, they served as the Internal Communication Manager at Diabetes UK. Nicola was responsible for leading internal communication and employee engagement strategies, advising senior managers, and implementing annual employee engagement surveys.

In 2015, Nicola briefly worked as the Assistant Director of Marketing (Creative Services and Internal Communications) at Barnardo's, leading a team of 10. Nicola developed communication and engagement strategies for various initiatives.

Nicola also has experience in research and academia. Nicola worked as a Research Assistant in the Evaluations Team at the Great Place to Work Institute in 2013, where they reviewed and evaluated workplace data. In 2012, they were a full-time postgraduate student at the University of East London, pursuing a Masters in Applied Positive Psychology.

Nicola'searlier experience includes working as a Learning & Development Manager at Tesco PLC, where they designed and delivered training courses and coached individuals on leadership and management challenges.

In addition to their professional experience, Nicola also took time off to travel and volunteer in 2014. Nicola traveled to South America and the USA and volunteered at Suited and Booted, a charity supporting vulnerable men in employment.

Nicola Ward completed their Masters in Applied Positive Psychology at the University of East London from 2012 to 2013. Prior to that, they pursued a BA (hons) in Modern History & Politics at The University of Sheffield from 1998 to 2001. Additionally, they obtained a certification as an NLP Practitioner from the Institute of Leadership & Management (ILM), although the exact month and year of obtaining this certification are not specified.
