James McPherson

James McPherson has a diverse and extensive work experience spanning various roles and companies. James began their career in 1996 as an Associate Attorney at Gudmundson, Siggins, Stone & Skinner, LLP. James then worked as an Associate Attorney at Lewis Brisbois, where they specialized in civil, commercial, and coverage litigation.

In 2000, James served as the General Counsel for InfoCentricity, a data technology software start-up, where they provided advice on various legal matters. James later managed their own law practice as an Attorney at Law at the Law Office of James McPherson for 13 years, specializing in contract and tort litigation practice and insurance law.

James then joined VALINOTI & DITO LLP as an Attorney (Of Counsel) where they represented business owners, landlords, and property managers in commercial transactions and litigation.

In 2003, they worked as an Associate Attorney at LHB Pacific Law Partners, LLP, specializing in insurance defense litigation and construction defect matters. James also provided technical support for firm presentations and contributed to the editing and updating of the Croskey Insurance Litigation chapter.

In 2015, James joined Spin, where they held multiple roles including Senior Managing Counsel, Commercial, Senior Director, Managing Counsel, Legal, and ultimately General Counsel. In these positions, they led legal teams, managed budgets, handled crisis management, and played a crucial role in company acquisitions and transitions.

Currently, James is serving as the General Counsel for Libation Labs, Inc., also known as Cuvée Collective. James is responsible for facilitating connections between wine consumers and exclusive wine experiences.

James McPherson earned a Bachelor's degree in Political Science and Government, with a minor in Business Administration, from UCLA from 1987 to 1992. James also obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Government, with a minor in Business Administration, from UCLA. Furthermore, they attended the University of San Francisco School of Law, where they completed a Doctor of Law (JD) degree.
