Angus McLachlan

Co-Founder / CEO at Liberate Medical

Angus McLachlan has over eight years of experience in the medical device industry. Angus began their career in 2011 as a Biomedical Engineer at Apellis Pharmaceuticals, Inc. In 2014, they took on the role of Director of Device Integration and Strategy at Revon Systems. Most recently, in 2013, McLachlan co-founded and served as CEO of Liberate Medical, LLC. At Liberate Medical, McLachlan led the development of the VentFree respiratory muscle stimulator, a novel non-invasive neuromuscular electrical stimulation device intended to reduce abdominal muscle atrophy and liberate patients from mechanical ventilation.

Angus McLachlan's education history began in 1996 at Madras College. Angus then attended Dundee College from 2002 to 2003, where they earned an HNC Computing in Computer Science. In 2003, they enrolled at the University of Glasgow and received their Master of Engineering (MEng) in Mechanical Engineering in 2008. Angus then continued their studies at the University of Glasgow and obtained their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Biomedical/Medical Engineering in 2014.
