Michael Thompson

Michael Thompson serves as Libertas’ Senior Managing Director of Credit and Head of Underwriting, facilitating and streamlining specialty financing solutions that serve thousands of small to medium-sized businesses. As the Head of Underwriting, he diligently leads Libertas’ team of underwriters, upholding a spirit of accountability as they provide financing to businesses in need.

Prior to Libertas, Michael worked as the senior credit underwriter at GWG MCA Capital, providing leadership and guidance to the underwriting team. Previously, he worked as an underwriter at Everest Business Funding and spent seven years as a small business specialist at J.P. Morgan Chase.

Michael holds a bachelor’s degree in Applied Mathematics and an associate degree in Computer Science from the New York City College of Technology.
