John has held various roles in different companies, including Vice President and Actuary at Liberty Bankers Insurance Group since 2022, Actuarial Consultant from 2020 to 2022, Senior Vice President & Chief Actuary - Product at US Health Group from 2018 to 2020, Senior Healthcare Consultant at Gabriel, Roeder, Smith & Company from 2016 to 2018, and Consultant at United Health Actuarial Services from 2011 to 2016. Prior to that, they worked as Senior Vice President and Chief Actuary - Self Employed Agency Division at HealthMarkets from 1998 to 2010, Senior Vice President and Chief Actuary - Group Division at Trustmark Insurance Company from 1987 to 1998, and Corporate Actuary - Group at Allstate Life Insurance Company from 1987 to 1989. John started their career as an Actuarial Student at Bankers Life and Casualty in 1979 and later became an Assistant Actuary at Life Investors Financial Group, Inc. from 1983 to 1987.
John Ames attended the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign from 1978 to 1979, where they pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Actuarial Science.
