CSM (Ret) Thomas Duke III has extensive work experience in both the military and government sectors. CSM (Ret) Thomas most recently served as the Liberty County Emergency Management Deputy Director starting in February 2021. Prior to that, they had a long career in the US Army, starting in 1990. During their time in the Army, they held various roles including CSM, Planning Manager, Training Manager, and Unit Manager. As the Training Manager, they served as a senior enlisted advisor and Soldier advocate, ensuring the welfare and training of 504 Soldiers and their Families. CSM (Ret) Thomas also supervised the development, physical training, unit safety, and retention of 144 Soldiers. In addition, they were responsible for stewardship and accountability of equipment and property valued at over $300,000,000.

CSM (Ret) Thomas Duke III pursued their Bachelor's degree in Business/Commerce, General from Trident University International from 2016 to 2018.
