Maya Joyce currently serves as a Planetarium Educator at Liberty Science Center since August 2023. Previously, Maya was an Undergraduate Learning Assistant at Michigan State University from January 2022 to May 2023, providing academic support in the Physics and Astronomy Department, and directing the MSU Science Theatre, which engaged over 2,000 children annually through science demonstrations. Maya's research experience includes a role as a National Science Foundation Research Fellow at the University of Hawaii at Manoa, collaborating with Dr. Duncan Farrah, and as a Professorial Assistant at Michigan State University, assisting in High Energy Physics research for the DUNE detector. Maya's background also includes a position as a Research Assistant at the American Museum of Natural History. Maya holds dual degrees in Theatre and Astrophysics from Michigan State University.
