Caitlin Sykes

Director, Asset Strategy at Liberty Utilities

Caitlin Sykes has a diverse work experience spanning from 2007 to the present day. Caitlin started their career at the University of Toronto as a Research Assistant and Teaching Assistant from September 2007 to June 2009. Caitlin then joined Ontario Power Generation in June 2009, where they held various roles including Assistant Engineer - Water Resources, Hydroelectric Optimization Supervisor, and Senior Manager (acting). Caitlin'sresponsibilities included managing hydroelectric operations, optimizing generation and revenue performance, and providing hydrotechnical support. In April 2020, Caitlin joined Liberty as a Senior Manager, Asset Strategy, where they were responsible for managing and negotiating commercial contracts related to solar and hydro facilities. Caitlin has recently been promoted to the role of Director, Asset Strategy.

Caitlin Sykes completed their Bachelor of Applied Science (BASc) in Environmental Engineering at the University of Waterloo from 2002 to 2007. Caitlin then pursued a Master of Applied Science (MASc) in Civil Engineering at the University of Toronto from 2007 to 2009. In addition, they have obtained various certifications, including an Executive Management Program from DeGroote School of Business - McMaster University (expected in 2023), Advanced Business French from Language Advantage Inc. (2021), Project Management Fundamentals from Velociteach (2021), and the Professional Engineer designation from Professional Engineers Ontario. Caitlin also completed the Empowered Women's Program and the OPG Negotiation Workshop in 2012, as well as the Accelerate Development Program and First Level Manager Program at Ontario Power Generation in 2019 and 2015, respectively.
