John Windsor

John Windsor's work experience begins in 2007 at Ontario Power Generation, where they served as the Production Manager & Chief Power Engineer. In this role, they oversaw the activities of up to 100 employees responsible for the production of 2000 MW of electricity. Additionally, they had overall responsibility for all power engineers on-site and ensured compliance with provincial regulations and maintenance of power generation equipment.

In 2008, Windsor joined Emera Energy as the Director of Asset Management, where they served until 2014. At Emera, they were responsible for managing assets and ensuring the efficient operation of the company's energy portfolio.

From 2014 to 2015, Windsor worked at Emera as the Director of Operations, Major Renewables and Alternative Energy. In this role, they provided operational and commercial support for business development projects, including utility-scale solar power generation, natural gas transportation, and geothermal power development.

In 2015, Windsor joined Northland Power Inc. as the Vice President of Asset Management and Energy Services and CEO of Energy Marketing. John held this position until 2020, overseeing asset management and energy services, as well as leading the company's energy marketing efforts.

John Windsor has a diverse education history. John obtained a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree with a focus on Business/Energy from Athabasca University from 2009 to 2011. Prior to that, they received a Certificate in Management from the Canadian Institute of Management from 2002 to 2005, specializing in Business Administration and Management. John also completed a Power Engineering program at both the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (SAIT) from 1998 to 2000, achieving 1st Class Studies, and Nova Scotia Community College (NSCC) from 1988 to 1990, earning a Diploma in Power Engineering. Additionally, they completed a Process Operations Certification from the Nova Scotia Institute of Technology in 1985, specializing in oil processing and refining. Before their formal education, they obtained a Certificate in electronics technology from the Canadian Navy from 1982 to 1985. John has additional certifications as a First Class Power Engineer, awarded by Nova Scotia, and is pursuing an Executive MBA and a Graduate Diploma in Management, both from Athabasca University.
