Apuã Paquola has worked in a number of research positions since 2010. Apuã began as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of California, San Diego in 2010, then moved to the Salk Institute for Biological Studies in 2012 as a Staff Researcher. In 2017, they took on two roles, becoming an Assistant Professor at Johns Hopkins Medicine and a Research Scientist at the Lieber Institute for Brain Development.
Apuã Paquola obtained a BSc in Computer Engineering from the Universidade Estadual de Campinas between 1992 and 1996. Apuã then went on to pursue a PhD in Bioinformatics from the USP - Universidade de São Paulo between 2004 and 2010.
