Geo Pertea has been working in the field of data/software engineering and bioinformatics since 1999. Geo began their career as a Bioinformatics Engineer at The Institute for Genomic Research in 1999 and then moved to the University of Maryland in 2005, where they held the same role. In 2011, they joined Johns Hopkins University as a Senior Software Engineer and has been a Staff Scientist II, Data/Software Engineer at the Lieber Institute for Brain Development since 2020.
Geo Pertea obtained a Master of Science in Computer Science & Bioinformatics from John Hopkins University between 2002 and 2004. Geo also obtained a Doctor of Medicine from Carol Davilla University of Medicine between 1990 and 2006.
