Louise Huuki-Myers

Staff Scientist I, Data Science at Lieber Institute for Brain Development

Louise Huuki-Myers has worked in a variety of roles in the field of data science and research. Louise began their career as a Technical Support Assistant at the Institute for Genomic and Evolutionary Medicine at Temple University in 2015. In 2016, they became a Student Athlete, competing in Division I NCAA Women's Rowing on the Schuylkill River. In 2018, they returned to the Institute for Genomic and Evolutionary Medicine at Temple University as a Technical Support Assistant. Most recently, in 2020, they joined the Lieber Institute for Brain Development as a Staff Scientist I, Data Science. In this role, they have innovated new methodology, integrated multiple technologies, built tools for the institute, conducted bulk human RNA-seq analysis, explored case vs. control research questions, processed single nucleus RNA-seq data, developed R packages, performed data quality control, contributed to experimental design, presented research findings at conferences, and contributed to 13 publications, including one first author preprint.

Louise Huuki-Myers attended Temple University from 2014 to 2019, earning a Bachelor of Science in Biology, General in 2018 and a Professional Science Master's in Bioinformatics in 2019. Louise also completed a Minor in Computer Science at Temple University.
