Annika Hagel has a diverse work experience in various organizations. Starting in 2017, they worked as a Fundraising and Communications Intern at Crossing Borders. In 2018, they served as a Research Intern at Landesfrauenrat Hamburg E.V. The following year, they held the position of Ticket Sales Officer at Zelt-Musik-Festival GmbH and then interned at the Deutsch-Dänische Handelskammer, where they worked in Members, Events & Communications. In 2020, they took on the role of Business Development and Research Intern at moinworld, contributing to project conceptualization, communication with partners, and the coordination of online meet-ups. From 2021 to 2022, Annika worked as a Programme Officer at the Cherie Blair Foundation for Women, and in 2022, they became a Learning Manager at Life Lessons Education. Currently, they are a Projects Coordinator at Social Engine UK.

Annika Hagel's education history starts with their obtaining an Abitur from Gelehrtenschule des Johanneums in 2014. Afterward, they attended the University of Freiburg from 2015 to 2019, where they pursued a Bachelor of Arts degree in Liberal Arts and Sciences with a focus on Governance. In 2018, Annika completed a semester abroad at Waseda University, focusing on Public Management and Gender Studies within the School of International Liberal Studies in Tokyo. Additionally, they undertook another semester abroad in 2017 at the University of Oslo, primarily focusing on Gender Equality Policy and Nordic Welfare States. Later, from 2020 to 2021, they attended The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) and earned an MSc in Gender, Policy & Inequalities.
