Igor Ariz

Igor Ariz has a diverse work experience in the field of biomedical data science. Igor began their career in 2009 as an intern at Universidad del País Vasco, where they collaborated with Dr. Álvaro Villarroel's research group in the Biophysics Unit. In 2010, they worked as a Biologist at CIDEMCO - Tecnalia. From 2012 to 2014, they were a Student at Universitat Pompeu Fabra. Igor then worked as a Ph.D. Student at Georg-August-Universität Göttingen from 2014 to 2019. Most recently, they have been a Biomedical Data Scientist at STALICLA since 2019 and will be a Health Data Scientist at Lifebit starting in 2022.

Igor Ariz obtained a Bachelor's degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from Universidad del País Vasco/Euskal Herriko Unibertsitatea in 2007-2012. Igor then completed an MSc in Bioinformatics for Health Sciences at Universitat Pompeu Fabra in 2012-2014. Igor went on to earn a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Physics of Biological and Complex Systems from The University of Göttingen in 2014-2018. In 2020-2021, they completed an LPIC 1 in Linux Administration from Cisco Networking Academy. In January 2023, they obtained a dbt Fundamentals certification from dbt Labs.
