Katherine Pliska

Katherine Pliska has had an extensive career in communications, public relations, and community relations. Katherine currently serves as the Director of Communications and Community Relations at LifeCenter Northwest, where they oversee internal and external communications, public education, and public affairs. Katherine is also responsible for integrating these functions to align with the organization's objectives. Prior to this role, Katherine worked as a Communications Manager at LifeCenter Northwest.

Before joining LifeCenter Northwest, Katherine worked as an Individual Giving Officer at Overlake Hospital Foundation from 2014 to 2017. Katherine also served as the Director of Special Events and Corporate Relations at Seattle Humane from 2012 to 2014, and as a Special Events Manager at the same organization from 2010 to 2012.

Katherine has experience in the nonprofit sector as well, having worked as a Special Programs Manager at the American Red Cross from 2009 to 2010 and as a Senior Development Associate at the San Diego Humane Society from 2008 to 2009.

Early in their career, Katherine held the position of Community Relations Specialist at Brown and Caldwell from 2004 to 2008. Katherine also gained experience as a Public Relations Intern at Katz & Associates, Inc. in 2004.

Katherine Pliska completed their Bachelor's Degree in Communication with a focus in Public Relations from George Mason University from the year 2000 to 2004. In January 2019, they also obtained a certification in Content Marketing Program from the Public Relations Society of America.
