Allan MacKillop is the Chief Medical Officer at World Surf League, currently serving in that role since January 2023. Prior to that, Allan held the position of Group Chief Medical Officer and Retrieval Physician at LifeFlight Australia since January 1986. Allan also served as Group Captain RAAF SR in the RAAF until their retirement in February 2021. Allan earned their Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (M.B.B.S.) from The University of Queensland in 1976 after completing their education at Brisbane Boys' College from January 1966 to December 1970.

The organisation is home to a globally recognised training academy that provides thousands of aviation and medical professionals with world-class training annually. As part of this partnership, the LifeFlight Surat Gas Aeromedical Service operates aeromedical retrieval services from its bases in Toowoomba and Roma. More than 150 doctors are employed under LifeFlight's Retrieval Medicine division. Through a partnership with the Queensland Government, RACQ LifeFlight Rescue Critical Care Doctors operate on board majority of the aeromedical retrieval services within Queensland to provide critical care to patients across the state. LifeFlight employs more than 400 staff, all playing a critical role in the lifesaving work that LifeFlight performs each day.
