L L. has extensive work experience in various healthcare-related roles. They started their career as a Lieutenant Commander in the US Navy's Medical Corps and served until 2010. L L. then worked as a Medical Director at Lifeguard Transportation, Inc. and the City of Hoover, where they provided medical support to fire, EMS, and police departments. Additionally, they held roles such as Vice Chairman at the Arthritis Foundation and Medical Director at the American Medical Response.

In 2004, L L. joined Vanderbilt University Medical Center as the Director of Commercial & Business Development, where they recruited partners and commercialized software systems for hospital networks. They also founded Anesthetic Gas Reclamation, a startup that focused on reducing the environmental impact of anesthesia.
