Catherine Gebhart

Catherine Gebhart has a strong background in histocompatibility testing and immunogenetics. Catherine currently holds the position of HLA Laboratory Director at LifeLink Foundation since May 2022. Prior to that, they worked at the American Red Cross as a Senior HLA Director from June 2019 to May 2022. Catherine'sextensive experience also includes roles at the University of Nebraska Medical Center, where they served as Associate Professor and Director of the Histocompatibility Laboratory from July 2014 to August 2019. Additionally, they held the positions of Director of the Histocompatibility Laboratory, Associate Director of the Histocompatibility Laboratory, and Technical Director of Molecular Diagnostics from July 2005 to July 2018. Catherine's expertise lies in histocompatibility testing for solid organ and bone marrow transplantation, as well as infectious disease monitoring of immunocompromised individuals.

Catherine Gebhart has a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Biology from Creighton University, which they obtained from 1988 to 1992. Catherine then attended the University of Nebraska Medical Center from 1993 to 1998, although their degree name and field of study during this period are unspecified. Catherine also holds additional certifications, including being a Fellow of the American College of Histocompatibility & Immunogenetics (ACHI) since September 2010 and being certified as MB(ASCP) by the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) since January 2005.
