Rebecca Payne Coursey has a diverse work experience spanning several sectors. Starting in 2008, they worked as a Grant Writer for Russellville Independent Schools until around 2010. From 2014 to early 2015, they served as a Kentucky Peer Support Specialist at Lifeskills. Following that, they worked as a Peer Support Specialist at Western State Hospital from 2015 to 2017. In 2017, they joined LifeSkills, Inc. as an Adult Peer Support Specialist and continues to hold that role. Additionally, they are currently involved with various organizations. Since 2021, they have been a Freelance Reporter for New Democrat & Leader. Rebecca is also actively participating as the Nami Bowling Green Interim Chair at NAMI and as the NAMI KY Lead Family Advocate and Newsletter Editor at NAMI KY.

Rebecca Payne Coursey earned a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in English Language and Literature/Letters from Western Kentucky University. Rebecca attended the university from 1997 to 2014.
