Jace McCown

Jace "Digit" McCown is the current Director of Flight Operations and Chief Pilot at LIFT Aircraft. Jace was previously with Skyways Air Transportation Inc from January 2018 to January 2020, where they served as Flight Test Engineer and Chief Pilot.

As the Chief Pilot at Skyways, Jace commanded the flight and ground crews and managed the execution of all flight operations. Jace was mission commander for multi-pilot/multi-aircraft operations, and flew the aircraft manually when required. Jace also developed normal and emergency flight procedures, and aircraft manuals. Additionally, they defined objectives and timelines for flight operations and coordinated with others internal and external to the company to meet them. Jace managed the logistics and administration of flight ops down to the lowest level; organizing operations schedules, equipment, and personnel. Jace balanced risk mitigation, mission execution, and available resources to maximize capabilities.

As the Flight Test Engineer, Jace worked with the development engineers and other pilots to develop test objectives and procedures. Jace identified, gathered, and analyzed flight data to satisfy or redefine these objectives, and delivered results to internal or external customers. Additionally, Jace always actively explored emerging technology and hardware with the eye to integrate the best into their systems.

Jace spends a lot of time interfacing with current and potential customers, partner organizations, and suppliers. Jace attends and presents at trade shows and expositions representing the company, our aircraft and it's capabilities. Jace arranges, plans and conducts
