Sima Gupta

Sima Gupta, CPA, currently serves as Senior Director Tax at Ligand Pharmaceuticals since July 2024. Prior to this, Sima held the position of Global Senior Tax Director at Verifone from May 2019 to June 2024, where Sima was responsible for developing and managing global tax strategies and overseeing tax operations in over 50 international jurisdictions. Previously, Sima worked at EY as a Senior Tax Manager in the Global Reporting & Compliance practice, focusing on ASC 740 income tax accounting and compliance for multinational technology clients. Sima began the career at Cougar Investment Fund as a Fund Accountant and progressed through positions at PKF Texas, ultimately becoming a Tax Manager. Sima holds an MBA in Finance and Accounting from the University of Houston.
