Mike Luebbers

Mike Luebbers is the Chief Credit Officer at Lighter Capital, a tech-enabled specialty lender that provides innovative royalty-based financing to SaaS companies nationwide. Mike joined the company in March 2018 and has played a key role in developing new markets and loan products while maintaining sound underwriting and superior investor returns.

Before joining Lighter Capital, Mike was the Chief Risk Officer at Funding Circle, a leading online lending platform for small businesses. Mike was responsible for managing risk across the portfolio, developing and implementing loan impairment and risk-rating methodologies, and designing Board Credit Committee charters to ensure appropriate Board oversight.

Mike has also held positions at Prosper Marketplace, Citigroup, and American Express. Mike is a graduate of the Wharton School of Business and has a Master’s degree in Economics from Stanford University.

Mike Luebbers has a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) from University of California, Berkeley, Haas School of Business. Mike also has a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration and Finance from University of Washington. In addition, they are certified in Commercial Lending from Pacific Coast Banking School.
