Vauhini Vara

Vauhini Vara is a versatile writer and educator with extensive experience in journalism, mentorship, and academia. Currently serving as a mentor for The Book Project at Lighthouse Writers Workshop and a visiting assistant professor at Colorado State University, Vauhini Vara has also contributed to prominent publications such as WIRED and The New York Times, where responsibilities included writing features on technology and serving as a story editor. With a successful freelance career highlighted by the publication of "The Immortal King Rao" and a short story collection, Vauhini Vara's prior roles span from contributing editor positions at The Atlantic and Fuller Project for International Reporting to a significant tenure at The New Yorker, where Vauhini Vara helped launch the business section. Vauhini Vara holds an M.F.A. in Creative Writing from the University of Iowa and a B.A. in International Relations from Stanford University.
