Sam Hocking

Sam is a technologist, investor, board member and founder of technology companies. Currently, he is a co-founder of Vertis.ai, an innovative AI data and analytics company in the “Future of Work” space. He is also the CEO of SMH Analytics that builds AI and technology solutions for proptech, fintech and consumer-tech. Sam also invest across the innovation economy.

Sam also built and sold AltX — a marketplace, manager research and analytics platform for the hedge fund industry. AltX employed state-of-the-art machine learning and AI to match buyers and sellers.

Prior to founding AltX, Sam co-ran BNP’s global Prime Brokerage Unit. He also co-led Bank of America’s Prime Brokerage unit and helped spearhead its sale to BNP Paribas, the largest transaction the BNP Investment Bank had ever transacted.

Sam earned his MBA from the Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern. He has BA in Economics from Rollins College. He also attended Harvard Business School, Innovation seminar and course.
