Justin Lim has a diverse work experience in various companies. Justin is currently employed as a Materials Engineer at Lilac Solutions, Inc. starting from January 2022. Prior to that, they worked at Mosaic Materials as an Associate Scientist from August 2019 to January 2020, where they scaled up manufacturing processes and conducted R&D experiments for metal-organic frameworks. Justin also had the role of Research Associate at Mosaic Materials from August 2017 to July 2019, where they assisted in creating standard operating procedures and conducted materials characterization and analysis. In 2014, Justin was a Visiting Researcher at Nagoya Institute of Technology, where they investigated the loading and release of proteins into glass-polymer hybrid material for bone regenerative applications. In 2013, they worked as a Technical Team Intern at DuPont, where they assisted in plant operations and applied materials selection principles to design a new bolt. Lastly, they briefly worked as a Fund Accountant at Deutsche Bank in 2010. Overall, Justin has a strong background in materials engineering and a range of experiences in research, manufacturing, and finance.
Justin Lim completed their primary education at The Leys School in Cambridge, from 2009 to 2011, where they pursued A Levels. Subsequently, from 2011 to 2015, they attended Imperial College London, where they earned a Master of Engineering (MEng) degree in Materials Science and Engineering. Continuing their academic journey, Justin went on to Northwestern University from 2015 to 2016, where they obtained a Master of Science (MS) degree in Materials Science and Engineering.
