Alex Boersma

Teaching Artist at Lillstreet Art Center

Alex Boersma is an accomplished teaching artist and scientific illustrator with extensive experience in the arts and science communication. Currently employed at Lillstreet Art Center as a teaching artist since September 2018, Alex offers a variety of art classes designed for students of all levels. As a scientific illustrator, Alex has collaborated with prestigious clients such as the Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History and Duke University Marine Labs. Past roles include creating illustrations for research projects at Stanford University and conducting research on marine mammals at the National Museum of Natural History. Alex holds a Master's degree in Science Illustration from California State University, Monterey Bay, and a Bachelor of Arts in Geology and Studio Art from Vassar College.
