Sarah Spencer

Instructor at Lillstreet Art Center

Sarah Spencer is a versatile artist and educator with extensive experience in various roles within the arts and business sectors. Currently serving as an artist at Io the Alien and an instructor at Lillstreet Art Center since April 2021, Sarah teaches sewing and textile arts. Additionally, Sarah has been a radio DJ for Chicago Independent Radio Project (CHIRP Radio 107.1FM) since July 2018, hosting a weekly music show that showcases local and independent artists. Previous positions include Co-Director of Live Events for CUPE local 1767 and Regional Director at BC Assessment, where Sarah held multiple roles including Team Leader and Appraiser from August 2010 to May 2018. Sarah's career began at Impark as Customer Service Supervisor and at Starbucks Coffee Company as Shift Supervisor. Educational qualifications include a BA in English and History from The University of British Columbia and completion of the Appraisal Institute of Canada (AIC) Designation Program at UBC Sauder School of Business. Additionally, Sarah has pursued comedy education at Blind Tiger Comedy since 2014.
