Yann Pierson

Yann Pierson's work experience begins in 2009 as a volunteer firefighter, where they served as a Porteur ARI until 2011. In 2013, they worked briefly as a host at Compétence Image and as a technician on a mass spectrometer at Thermo Fisher Scientific. In the same year, they became a Lab Manager at Hackuarium until 2017. Yann then joined EPFL in 2014 as an Assistant Doctorant, working on a thesis in protein engineering until 2018. Currently, they are the Founder and CTO of Limula, a company focused on ex vivo gene-engineered cell therapies.

Yann Pierson has a diverse education history. Yann obtained a Certificat in Pharmaceutical Administration, Pharmaceutical Policies, and Regulatory Affairs from San Diego State University in 2019. In the same year, they also completed a Professional Level Mechanical Design program at Dassault System, specializing in Computer-Aided Design (CAD) and design technology. In 2016, Yann attended the University of Bern, where they completed a Biosafety Officer Level 1 program focused on Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. Earlier, they pursued a Master Project in Chitin Liquefaction at the National University of Singapore from 2013 to 2014. Yann's academic journey commenced at EPFL (École polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne) from 2009 to 2014, where they earned their Master of Science (MSc) degree in Molecular and Biological Chemistry.
