Elliot Burger obtained his BA (2006) from Simon Fraser University, his LLB (2009) from the University of Ottawa and was admitted to the Ontario Bar in 2010. He joined Linamar in 2018 and is currently the General Counsel, Corporate Secretary and the Global Vice President of Corporate Development. Prior to Linamar he worked as the Global Director of Regulatory Compliance for a large Canadian industrial manufacturer and prior to that he was a lawyer with Bennett Jones LLP.
Mr. Burger has extensive experience in the areas of corporate, securities and commercial law, mergers and acquisitions, compliance and risk management and international trade regulations. Mr. Burger sits on several subsidiary boards and acts as corporate secretary. He has been a frequent presenter and panel member at the American Conference Institute, the American Bar Association - International Law Section and the Canadian Corporate Counsel Annual Institute. In 2017 Mr. Burger was recognized as one of Canada's leading legal innovators by Canadian Lawyer Magazine.
