Peter C. Cavanagh

Peter C. Cavanagh serves as a Justice on the Illinois Fourth District Appellate Court since February 2018 and is a member of the Illinois Judicial Worker’s Compensation Committee. In addition to judicial duties, Cavanagh has taught courses as an adjunct instructor at Lincoln College since August 2020 and previously held a similar position at MacMurray College from January 2016 to March 2020. With extensive experience in the legal field, Cavanagh has served as a Resident Circuit Judge for the 7th Judicial Circuit from 2008 to 2018, and held various positions in law firms and public defender's offices, including partner at Cavanagh & Madonia, LLP. Cavanagh's education includes a J.D. from the University of Illinois Chicago School of Law and a B.S. in History from Illinois State University.
