Tim Barnhart has a diverse work experience in various industries. Starting in 2006, they worked as a Quality Assurance Manager at TMK IPSCO for a few months. Tim then transitioned to the Stoody Company, where they were a Product Development Engineer, responsible for developing alloys for industrial hardfacing applications. In 2013, they joined Polymet Corporation and held multiple roles within the company, including R&D Engineer, R&D Engineering Manager, and Purchasing and R&D Engineering Manager. During this time, they managed teams, developed alloys for various sectors, and executed purchasing strategies. In 2017, they founded and directed Roots to STEM, a non-profit organization aiming to support STEM education in rural Southern Appalachia. Most recently, they worked as a Global R&D Manager for Johnson & Johnson MedTech and is currently serving as the Director of Engineering and Product Development for the Harris Products Group at Lincoln Electric.
Tim Barnhart earned a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Materials Engineering from Virginia Tech in 2006. Tim later pursued a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) degree in Masters in Business Administration from Miami University, completing it in 2017. In addition to their formal education, Tim also holds certifications such as Scrum Master Certified (SMC) from Six Sigma Global Institute and GE Ultrasonic Level I Certified from GE Oil & Gas. Tim has also obtained a Strategy Certification from Blue Ocean Strategy | Shift | Leadership.
