Obaid Barakzai

Obaid Barakzai serves as the Partnership Director for Policy and Communities at United Way of Salt Lake, focusing on relationship building, political engagement, and community school strategy implementation. With a background in grassroots organizing and educational equity, Obaid has held multiple roles, including Network Director and Grassroots Leadership Organizer. In addition to current positions with My Brother's Keeper and One Young World, Obaid oversees operations as CEO of Design Venturz Inc. and actively contributes as a Peace Ambassador for Postcards For Peace and Seeds of Peace. A former student body president at Westminster College and a fellow at Harvard University, Obaid holds a Bachelor's degree with Honors in International Political Economy and has engaged in extensive training and leadership development throughout the educational journey.
