Erkki Seppäläinen

Erkki Seppäläinen has extensive experience in various roles within the technology and engineering industry. From 2018 to present, they have been the CTO of LINK Design and Development Oy, where they manage multidisciplinary projects, including electronics, firmware & software, mechanical engineering, industrial design, UX, and service design. Erkki is responsible for developing novel products, such as machine vision, advanced data analysis, and innovative optics. In 2019, they also supervised a Bachelor's thesis and worked on projects involving coronavirus-killing workspaces based on UV-C radiation.

Prior to their current role, Erkki worked as the BU leader at LINK for the entirety of 2018, where they focused on developing the Technology team as an integral part of the company. Erkki also took on project management responsibilities and was in charge of sales for the BU.

Before joining LINK, Erkki was the Managing Director of Skunk Developments Oy from 2013 to 2018. In this role, they managed an engineering office specialized in embedded electronics, firmware, and software. Erkki oversaw prototype development and productization of novel ideas, as well as strengthening the intellectual property rights of customers. Erkki also supervised a Master's thesis during their time at Skunk Developments.

From 2008 to 2013, Erkki worked at Beneq Oy, first as a Senior Scientist from 2011 to 2013. In this position, they developed a TCO process for thin film PV cell production, worked with customers on technical sales support and specifications, and conducted international networking and conference presentations. Prior to this role, they were a Manager of Applications and Systems, Aerosol Coatings from 2008 to 2011, where they led a product team of 11 individuals and played a key role in the development and launch of various coating systems.

Erkki also has experience from Draka Comteq, where they worked from 2005 to 2008 as a Senior Draw Engineer. Erkki'sresponsibilities included developing draw furnaces, ergonomic handling tools, and coordinating development tests at an international level. At Draka Fibre Finland, Erkki held the position of Development Manager from 1999 to 2005. During their time there, they worked on process development to increase optical fiber output and managed a development team.

Erkki's career began at Nokia Cables, Optical Fibres, where they worked as a Development Engineer from 1996 to 1999. Erkki focused on increasing the drawing speed of optical fibers and developing optical measurement instruments.

Throughout their career, Erkki has demonstrated their expertise in project management, technical sales support, process development, and leadership across various industries, particularly in technology, engineering, and manufacturing.

Erkki Seppäläinen completed their Master's degree in Technical Physics at Teknillinen korkeakoulu-Tekniska högskolan from 1986 to 1996. Prior to that, they attended Helsingin II normaalikoulu from 1978 to 1986, but specific details regarding a degree or field of study are unavailable.
