Bala Sharma has a diverse work experience spanning several industries. In 1987, they started their career at DSP Financial Consultants Ltd where they served as a Senior Executive, handling retail investor servicing and relationship management. From 1990 to 1995, they worked at Titan Company Limited as a Regional Commercial Manager, responsible for accounting and finance, sales administration, distribution, compliance, HR, and administration. Bala then joined Inland Printers Limited as the Head of Corporate, overseeing corporate operations from 1995 to 1998. Bala then moved to Datamatics Financial Services Limited in 1998, where they served as the General Manager for Client Servicing and Business Development, focusing on relationship management with existing clients and business development. From 2001 to 2005, they worked at CSS Process Management Company Pvt. Ltd. as a Senior Vice President. Bala then became the Executive Director of Goodlife Retail Pvt. Ltd. in 2005, where they were involved in the promotion and management of the e-retailing venture. In 2008, they joined Processmind Business Solutions Pvt. Ltd. as Director, successfully promoting and growing the non-voice business process services company. Since 2018, Bala has been associated with Link Intime India Pvt. Ltd. as the Vice President for Corporate and Institution Relations.

Bala Sharma pursued a Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com.) degree from SIES College of Arts, Science & Commerce, specializing in Auditing, Accounting, Financial Management, Taxation, and Management. This program lasted from 1981 to 1984. Following this, from 1984 to 1987, Bala Sharma completed the Intermediate Examination at The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, which covered Accounting and Finance, Auditing, Taxation, General laws, and Corporate laws. Lastly, Bala Sharma went on to obtain a Masters in Marketing Management from Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies (JBIMS) between 1992 and 1995, focusing on Business, Management, Marketing, and Related Support Services.
