Daniel Burgwinkel

Daniel Burgwinkel is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in data governance, program management, and education. Currently serving as a Data Governance Officer at Baloise Bank since April 2025, Daniel has previously held significant roles at Novartis, managing compliance process rollouts across 140 countries, and led initiatives at Edelweiss Connect to enhance chemical risk assessments through a Knowledge and Data Management platform. As a dedicated lecturer at various Swiss institutions, Daniel teaches subjects including Blockchain, Knowledge Graphs, and Data Science. Involved in governance as a partner at krm.swiss and a board member at n'cloud.swiss, Daniel has contributed to information governance literature and training for LinkedIn Learning. Daniel holds a Master's degree in Business Engineering from the University of Karlsruhe and a Ph.D. in Business Administration from the University of St.Gallen.
