Renee Nelson

Renee Nelson is an accomplished communications professional with extensive experience in various leadership roles across educational and nonprofit organizations. Currently serving as the Executive Director of Communications for Linn-Mar Community Schools since April 2024, Renee previously held the position of Director of Communications and Creative Services at Grant Wood Area Education Agency, where responsibilities included directing marketing and communication efforts for multiple school districts. Prior experience includes managing communications and public affairs at NextEra Energy Resources Duane Arnold, LLC, and directing communications for the American Red Cross. Renee holds a Master's degree in Journalism and Integrated Marketing Communications from the University of Iowa and a Bachelor's degree in Journalism and Public Relations from Iowa State University.
