Hans Nordby

Hans Nordby is the Head of Analytics & Research at Lionstone Investments. Hans has over 10 years of experience in the real estate industry, and has held various positions at CoStar Group and TheGuarantors.

Nordby began their career at CoStar Group in 2009, where they led the CoStar Portfolio Strategy division. In this role, they were responsible for advisory services, analytic tools, forecasting and risk management solutions for both equity and debt investors. Hans also managed growth and facilitated product development of CoStar Risk Analytics (CRA), the lender/regulator risk management consulting division of CoStar.

In 2018, Nordby left CoStar Group to join TheGuarantors as Chief Strategy Officer. At TheGuarantors, they developed new risk management, transaction and financial products for the real estate industry. Hans also led the Securiti team and product line. Securiti is the first innovation in security deposits since the letter of credit, and is backed by Chubb and other major insurers.

Nordby is a frequent speaker at industry conferences and client-sponsored events. Hans has been featured in various media outlets, including the Wall Street Journal, the New York Times, the San Francisco Chronicle, the Washington Post, Bloomberg, NBC News, CNBC News, Fortune, USA Today, Time magazine and Fox News.

Hans Nordby graduated from the University of Minnesota with a BA in Scandinavian Literature, Magna Cum Laude. Hans then went on to earn their MBA from the Indiana University - Kelley School of Business in Finance and Real Estate.
