Mason Peck is a member of the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at Cornell University since 2004. His research focuses on, among other topics, spacecraft systems, attitude dynamics, control, navigation, and robotic systems. For two years, Mason served as NASA’s Chief Technologist, and prior to his time at Cornell, he spent a decade working with Honeywell and Boeing. He has authored over ninety academic articles and holds seventeen patents. Mason holds a Ph.D and MS in Aerospace Engineering from UCLA, an MA in English Language and Literature from the University of Chicago, and a BS in Aerospace Engineering and BA in English from the University of Texas, Austin. Mason’s extensive experience with satellite and spacecraft navigation, controls, and dynamics are essential to developing the C-1′s gyro stability system.
