Literacy Pittsburgh
Beth Dewhurst currently serves as the D.O.V.E. Program Coordinator at TRAILS Ministries and as an Adjunct Faculty member at the Community College of Beaver County, both roles started in 2024 and 2023, respectively. SInce December 2020, Beth has been a faculty member for the Ed Tech MA & K12 Educator Certification Programs at Moreland University. Previous experience includes working as a Subject Matter Expert in K2 Literacy at EVERFI and a Literacy Intervention/ELA/Social Studies Teacher at the District of Columbia Public Schools from 2005 to 2021. In 2017, Beth was recognized as the DC State Teacher of the Year by the DC Office of the State Superintendent of Education and participated in the Emerging Leaders Program with New Leaders for New Schools in 2013. Notable achievements include receiving the Sontag Prize in Urban Education and actively leading targeted educational programs. Beth holds a Doctor of Education (EdD) in Educational/Instructional Technology from Walden University, along with degrees in Teaching of Writing and Literature from American University and English/Secondary Education from Messiah University.
