Courtney Smith

Courtney Smith is a Literacy Specialist at Heggerty, starting in March 2023, where responsibilities include assisting in the development of the Bridge to Reading Foundational Skills curriculum for K-2. Previously, Courtney held the role of National Language and Literacy Consultant at Vista Higher Learning from May to December 2022, and was a Team Lead/Deep Equity Team Leader at La Grange School District #102 from June 2016 to June 2022. In that position, duties involved preparing equitable practices agendas, collaborating on professional development, and overseeing summer school programs. Earlier experience includes positions as a Kindergarten Teacher and a Title 1 Tutor within Plainfield Community Consolidated School District #202. Courtney holds a Master of Education in Elementary Education from Concordia University-Portland and a Bachelor's in Elementary Education from Illinois State University.
