Sarah Danzo is currently an alumni & advisor at Litesprite. Sarah previously worked as a mental health therapist at Cleveland Clinic from September 2018 to May 2019. In their role, they worked with an interdisciplinary team of medical doctors, nurses, physical therapists, social workers, and a school teacher to provide individual and group evidence-based psychotherapy to pediatric chronic pain patients ages 7-16 years. Sarah was also responsible for participating in school reintegration meetings conducted with the patient and caregivers in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team and client’s school in order to enhance school reintegration and planning when patients complete the chronic pain program. Individual therapy was provided to each patient three times a week during their three-week stay in the inpatient and intensive outpatient chronic pain rehabilitation program. Groups led included psychoeducation regarding Chronic Pain, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, symptom management, social skills training, and stress management and relaxation. Sarah also conducted family meetings with patients, participated in multidisciplinary treatment team meetings and rounds, participated in school re-entry meetings for patients, observed patients in physical therapy sessions, and participated in patient follow-up visits following their completion of the program.
Sarah Danzo received their PhD in Clinical Psychology from Case Western Reserve University and their Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Rochester.
