Marcus Higginbotham has extensive experience in the quality management field, working at various companies in the battery manufacturing industry. Marcus began their career as a Lab Technician at Johnson Electric in 2001, where they gained valuable experience in the field. In 2006, they joined Cobasys as a Materials Technician, focusing on failure analysis and materials development for NiMH cells used in hybrid, plug-in hybrid, and electric vehicles. In 2010, Marcus moved to A123 Systems, where they served as the Quality Engineer, responsible for daily operations and inspections to support production. Marcus later became the Quality Manager for the Romulus Coating Plant and a Plant Quality Manager, overseeing cell, module, and pack assembly. In 2018, Marcus joined Lithium Werks as the Director of Global Quality, leading the implementation of a global quality management system across their sites in China, Europe, and the United States. Their work at Lithium Werks involves designing, engineering, and manufacturing lithium iron phosphate batteries of various sizes for energy storage systems.
Marcus Higginbotham attended Schoolcraft College from 2003 to 2009, where they studied Metallurgy. Marcus also holds a certification as a Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) from ASQ - World Headquarters.
