Little Angels Foundation (LAF)

Established in 2013 to help schools in the St. Louis region, the Little Angel Foundation is conceptualized and led by Riz Khan to help people and give back to the community. The past two years have been among the most strenuous times for communities worldwide. The persistent health risks associated with the virus, loss of family or friends, social isolation, and financial hardship have directly affected many. Despite rough times, LAF has seen many instances of acts of partnership, courage, and allyship shown throughout our communities. In addition to the considerable public health risk, the pandemic also had debilitating socio-economic effects, including lost jobs, increased food insecurity, and homelessness across the country. Our local Saint Louis communities were no exception. For Riz, this was a call to action; this led to the expansion of LAF to include not only children, but also spread the reach to anyone with food insecurities. Currently, LAF distributes ~4,000 plus meals equivalent of food every month via direct outreach to community partners and grassroots organizers, such as Operation Food Search, MICA project, Greek Church, St. Patrick Church, Missionaries of Charities. For 2022, our goal is to grow our footprint while continuously expanding our volunteering and service efforts to include disadvantaged communities across the St Louis region. Little Angels Foundation has three key areas where they would like to focus their service mission: (A) Supporting refugees and new immigrants in their transition to new living situations by providing cooked meals and food boxes (B) Supporting disadvantaged children in under-resourced neighborhoods of North County and East St. Louis with school supplies and pantry staples (C) Supporting homeless shelters by providing food and other essentials. These goals are tailored to each community based on their needs. Since April 2020, 100,000+ meals have been distributed. Donate; Venmo @LAF2013 CashApp $LAF2013
