Brian Wyckhuyse has extensive experience in educational leadership, currently serving as Principal of Newton Middle School within Littleton Public Schools since July 2013, where responsibilities include collaboration with the leadership team, teacher support, and family engagement. Prior to this role, Brian held multiple positions in Cherry Creek Schools, including Coordinator of Student Achievement and Dean of Students, and contributed significantly to student achievement and discipline across various grades. Brian's career began in Bloomfield Hills Schools as a teacher of 6th-grade Math, Social Studies, and Computer Science, complemented by administrative roles in Kyrene School District. Educational qualifications include a Master’s in Curriculum and Instruction from Michigan State University and an Ed. Specialist in Administration and School Leadership from Oakland University.

LPS is the only school district in the Denver metro area to receive the Colorado Department of Education’s (CDE) highest accreditation rating eight of the nine years it has been offered. LPS schools annually receive John Irwin School of Excellence and Governor’s Distinguished Improvement awards. LPS has also received the English Language Proficiency Act (ELPA) Excellence Award multiple times. Littleton Public Schools serves 28 square miles and includes the majority of the City of Littleton, Town of Columbine Valley, and portions of the municipalities of Bow Mar, Centennial, Greenwood Village and the City of Englewood.
