Tonya Young

Tonya Young (Lacey), M.Ed. has a diverse work experience spanning over several industries. Tonya worked as a Preschool Teacher/Supervisor at HealthONE from 1996 to 2006, where they facilitated a group of 25 four and five-year-olds in a preschool curriculum and supervised a preschool staff. From 2000 to 2004, they worked at Sprint Nextel as an Activations/Telecommunications specialist, activating cellular devices and providing customer service in a call center. Tonya also worked as a Floral Designer/Sales/Weddings/Holidays at various flower shops from 1991 to 2002. In 2006, they started their own business, Young@Heart LLC, where they served as the Owner/Provider until 2016. Currently, they are working at Littleton Public Schools as a Lead Preschool Teacher and has also served as the Preschool Director since 2016.

Tonya Young (Lacey), M.Ed. has a diverse education history. Tonya earned their Bachelor's degree in Psychology and Teaching Certificate from Metropolitan State University of Denver in 2000. Prior to that, they obtained another Bachelor's degree in Psychology/Education from the University of Northern Colorado in 1997. In 1995, they completed their Associate's degree in Liberal Arts and Sciences/Liberal Studies from Arapahoe Community College. Tonya also holds a high school diploma in Drama and Dramatics/Theatre Arts, Applied Arts, which they received from Littleton High School in 1993.

Tonya continued their education at Grand Canyon University where they completed their Master's degree in Education, specializing in Literacy Instruction and Curriculum from 2014 to 2016. Tonya obtained additional certifications including a Child Care: Large And Small Group And School-Age Director License from the Colorado Department of Education in 2016, an Early Childhood Education Teaching License K-3 from the State of Colorado Department of Education in 2000, and a Masters Program from Grand Canyon University in 2015.
