Bertrand Bastien

Bertrand Bastien is a highly experienced engineer specializing in product testing, failure analysis, and embedded systems. Currently serving as a Senior Engineer at LivaNova since September 2025, Bertrand previously held leadership roles at iThera Medical GmbH, where responsibilities included directing the development of advanced data acquisition systems and overseeing firmware development for imaging technologies. Prior experience includes working at Danfoss as a Senior Research Engineer focused on firmware for digital gate drivers, and at GE Global Research and GE, where Bertrand contributed to enhancing power semiconductor devices and optimizing traction systems for diesel-electric mining trucks. Bertrand holds a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Virginia and an Ingenieur degree from Centrale Lille.
