Derek Welsh

Derek Welsh has extensive experience in the financial and renewable energy sectors, currently serving as Senior Vice President and Head of Bioenergy and E&I Strategic Development at Live Oak Bank since March 2014. Prior roles at Live Oak Bank include Vice President positions managing E&I Strategic Development and Distributed Energy Finance, as well as various underwriting and loan servicing roles. Before this, Derek Welsh worked as a legal assistant at Brock & Scott, PLLC, from September 2008 to February 2014, and gained internship experience at New Hanover Regional Medical Center in 2013. Education includes a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a focus on Finance from the University of North Carolina Wilmington and an Associate of Arts and Sciences in Accounting from Cape Fear Community College.
