Kate Groat is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in education and corporate philanthropy. Currently serving as the Director of Corporate Philanthropy at Live Oak Bank since August 2010, Kate developed the bank's philanthropic mission and drives initiatives that result in positive community impact. Prior roles include Loan Officer at Bishop Gorman High School and Learning Specialist at Charleston Charter School for Math and Science, where Kate contributed significantly to the development and implementation of Individualized Education Programs for students with disabilities. Previous educational positions include teaching Algebra and Geometry at Savannah Country Day School, where Kate also coached basketball and soccer. Kate holds a Master's degree in Special Education from Vanderbilt University and a Bachelor's degree in Economics and French from Washington and Lee University.
