Alasdair Hitchins

Alasdair Hitchins has over 10 years of work experience. In 2021, they began working as a Lead Geospatial Developer at LiveEO. From 2016 to 2021, they worked at Hummingbird Technologies Ltd, where they held roles such as Head of Remote Sensing, Data Science Lead, Senior Image Analyst, and Image Analyst. From 2012 to 2013, they completed a one-year MSc Environmental Mapping course at University College London, where they studied topics such as image classification and feature extraction, numerical analysis, stereo image processing, 3D imaging, GIS, terrestrial carbon modelling, and more. In 2011, they gained work experience in route design engineering at Huawei Marine Networks.

Alasdair Hitchins has a diverse educational background. Alasdair obtained a BSc in Physical Geography from the University of Exeter in 2012. Alasdair then went on to receive a Master of Science (MSc) in Environmental Mapping from University College London, U. of London in 2013. In addition, they have two certifications: a BNUC-S Practical PfCO Recommendation from RUSTA UAS in September 2016 and a BNUC-S Theory from EuroUSC in June 2016.
